- ACSI and SJI offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
- *Millennia Institute uses the L1R4 aggregate instead of L1R5 and also offers a Commerce course, with a 2026 cut-off point of 20.

📈 Changes in Cut-off Points Compared to 2025
Comparing the 2026 JAE results with the 2025 admission figures, several Junior Colleges have experienced changes in their cut-off points.
Key observations:
- Raffles Institution (RI) maintains its highly competitive Science cut-off point of 3.
- Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) sees its Science cut-off point improve from 4 to 3, matching RI.
- Dunman High School (DHS) and National Junior College (NJC) both see their Science cut-off points move from 7 to 6.
- Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) becomes more competitive in Science, with its cut-off point decreasing from 8 to 7.
- Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) and Eunoia Junior College (EJC) maintain their Science cut-off points at 5.
A lower cut-off point indicates a more competitive posting outcome, but it does not necessarily mean that a school’s educational quality has improved or declined.
🔍 School Comparisons
Highly Competitive JCs
Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Institution continue to have the lowest Science cut-off points at 3. Both colleges remain highly competitive choices for students with excellent O-Level results. Eunoia Junior College and Nanyang Junior College follow closely, with Science cut-off points of 5.
Other Popular JCs
Victoria Junior College, Dunman High School and National Junior College have Science cut-off points of 6. Temasek Junior College and Anglo-Chinese Junior College have Science cut-off points of 7. These colleges offer additional options for students considering different academic programmes, school cultures and locations.
JCs with Higher Cut-off Points
Jurong Pioneer Junior College, Tampines Meridian Junior College and Yishun Innova Junior College provide further options for students who meet the JC admission requirements.
Students should remember that a higher cut-off point does not necessarily indicate a lower quality of education. Every JC offers opportunities for students to develop academically and personally.
📚 Understanding L1R5 and JC Admission
For the 2026 JAE, JC admission is based on the L1R5 aggregate, which considers one language subject and five relevant subjects. Students must generally achieve a gross L1R5 aggregate of 20 points or better, in addition to meeting the required subject grades. The net L1R5 score is calculated after deducting applicable bonus points, such as those awarded for CCA achievements and other qualifying criteria.
Important update for future students:
From the 2028 post-secondary admissions exercise, the JC admission aggregate will change from L1R5 to L1R4, with a qualifying threshold of 16 points or better. Students planning to enter JC in 2028 or later should refer to the updated MOE admission requirements, as the new scoring system will not be directly comparable with the 2026 figures.
✍️ Notes!
The 2026 Junior College cut-off points provide useful insights into Singapore’s JC admission landscape. While Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Institution continue to have some of the most competitive entry scores, students have many other options depending on their academic results, interests and aspirations. When selecting a JC, students and parents should consider not only cut-off points but also the school’s academic programmes, CCAs, learning environment, location and suitability.
Remember that cut-off points may change from year to year. Meeting a previous year’s cut-off point does not guarantee admission. For the latest and most accurate information, always refer to the official MOE SchoolFinder.
